Based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, we are a growing group of male & female lunatics (not a cycle club) who enjoy getting muddy and wet (well some of us anyway!) tired and occasionally stopping for a pint of the local ale at the Amble Inn. There are varying levels of speed and fitness from the athletes and snowboarders to the the slower and less fit (that's me- Rich)

Anyone can join in on our Sunday morning riding madness through the wilds of Hertfordshire - All you need is a helmet and bike, oh and also a sense of humour (this line has been pinched by other bike groups with websites!)

We are affiliate members of the CTC however we currently have NO individual riders insurance cover, however don't let that stop you from enjoying yourself so we do ask you to read about us and complete the on-line form before coming along - click here

Don't worry if the 20 miles plus looks a bit daunting -we will split into groups and the experienced riders will take the longer routes, with any NEWBIES guided back (to our pub The Amble Inn of course!) - Building up gradually to the bigger rides is the challenge! -click on our MESSAGE BOARD and THIS PAGE if you are coming along-  If you are new to mountainbiking or it's your first time off-road we suggest that you come along to a NEWBIES ride which we normally have each month. Please do let us know if you are coming along in case times/meet changes - you will get all the info when completing the rides form on this site.

For the extreme riders Midweek Nite Rides and the odd Saturday sees the Single Speeders hit the trails for some serious stuff (3hrs, if your legs and batteries can take it). Not ideal if you are new to MTB'ing (see above) so we ask any OTT newbie to hit the sunday trails with us first before attempting the evening madness.

Sunday morning and the larger groups gather at 9.30 and returning to the pub for around 1-2pm most weeks. More details can be found about the meetings on our MESSAGE BOARD and details of where we went, including some amusing pictures on the BLOG. Details of the meeting places are here.

       

We do sometimes venture further than the home counties and our treks to Africa, Italy, Spain, Germany (and Wales) can be seen on the media pages....not to be missed! If you ride regularly with OTT you will be invited on the UK trail centre rides also.

We are also lucky to have our own skilled mechanic: Ben (for those OTT riders who don't dabble in their own repairs) and this means our bikes are back on the road quicker after the inevitable technical failure.Look out for a brand change coming soon from Ben!

 

Route maps can be found on this site from Endemondo, Sportstracker, Garmin & Cyclemeter along with some video and photo's which can be viewed or downloaded for later. Most of the trails we follow are "Public Right of Way or Bridleways". If our maps appear (very rarely) to venture onto walkways we are of course not riding (hmm) or this is a mistake on the gps.
